Windows Mobile As A SmartPhone OS: The Features
There are so many smartphones on the market today, how we choose the right one is pretty much based on preference. Windows Mobile 6.5 Operating System
The most current version of the Windows Mobile Operating System is the 6.5 and some subsequent versions of the 6.5. We will outline what each of these Operating Systems has to offer. Let's start with the Windows Mobile 6.5, this new operating system designed for mobile phones has a new interface and what they call a honeycomb start screen. There are hexagon style tiles for each program on the phone. This was designed to be easier to use along with phones that have touch screen technology.
With the 6.5 Operating System you can customize your start menu with most Internet applications like the time, weather, calendar etc. Unlike the iPhone when you want to update let's say the weather, you have to go into the app to update it, with Windows 6.5 it automatically updates. By design the phone is more finger friendly as we talked about the touch screen technology. The home screen does resemble the Zune Phone but according to those who have the Windows and have had the Zune, say that they do resemble each other but the Windows OS works whereas the Zune had many problems.
Another great feature of the Windows Mobile 6.5 is that is lets the user to go straight to a waiting voice mail, text messages and any other data that you use when you are unlocking the phone. Once you tap on an icon it will automatically open up in a matter of seconds.
Windows Mobile 6.5.1 Operating Systems: With this version of the 6.5, this OS is also finger friendly for a more accurate touch screen technology. The icons are soft buttons as opposed to text-based icons. You have an updated Contacts App, and the Microsoft supports A-GPS as well as a new and improved threaded text messages and the overall performance of the OS is much improved.
Windows Mobile 6.5.3: This version was released in February 2010; it was released for the first Windows Phone 6.5.3 Smartphone. This version offers also a finger friendly technology as well as new features that were designed with usability in mind. With this OS, it can support the Multi Touch feature as well as complete touch control. There is no stylus pen or drag and drop start menu icons. On the 6.5.1, it had soft buttons but with this version we have touchable tiles.
